Welcome to Miami Gay News, everything you want to know about the nightlife, issues and events that interest the LGBT community in Greater Miami and Miami Beach areas. A media partner of South Florida Gay Nightlife in association with JoCa Communications, Miami Gay News is the brainchild of openly gay journalist, publicist and social media manager Jose Cassola, who worked on and off for The Miami Herald for nearly 15 years and The Miami Times for nearly 2 and a half years. Tired of the lack of coverage on LGBT content in his hometown, Cassola decided to focus on writing the stories no other publication — gay or straight — was covering. In the summer of 2017, he rebranded SoBeGayNightlife.com, founded in 2011, and relaunched it as South Florida Gay Nightlife to encompass nightlife happenings from Miami to Wilton Manors. However, Cassola found himself rarely leaving Miami and decided to devote his time to unearthing the little known treasures in the Miami and South Beach gay scene that weren’t receiving coverage. He soon realized there was more to gay Miami than just the nightlife and started covering LGBT nonprofits, professionals and networking events. From there, Miami Gay News was born. Check in regularly to read about the latest local news and notes about the LGBT nightlife, issues and events that interest you.
